Cognitive load theory
Any material has inherent complexity based on its internal components and relations between them. The information should be presented in a way that learner can fully understand.
Types of cognitive loads:
- Intrinsic inherent difficulty. ex- 2+2 vs differential equations
- Extraneous unnecessary load. - Clear text, visuals, interactive software.
- Germane constructing mental models.
